Nuno Bettencourt Kicks Off 2023 Extreme Tour!

Nuno Bettencourt kicked off the 2023 Extreme Tour this past Wednesday at the State Theatre in Portland, Maine. This is first leg of a worldwide 2023 Extreme Tour supporting their recent release of the record “Six”. The 2023 Extreme tour begins in the US then visits Australia, Japan, UK, and Europe (including visits to Germany and Italy).

Extreme erupted for an explosive sold out “homecoming show” this past Thursday at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, NH. The energy throughout the venue was at a fever pitch from the moment fans arrived in the building!

Extreme then tore through a highly combustible close to 2 hour set spanning their whole catalogue of albums. Opening with #Rebel, a fresh new song from their recently released Six album, that blew the top off the place early and set the pace for an evening of rock celebration! Nuno and Extreme saved their new single “Rise” to kick off the Extreme encore. The complete Extreme 8/3/2023 Hampton Casino, Hampton, NH set list can be viewed below.

A highlight of every Extreme performance is when Nuno breaks into his signature “Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee” guitar solo. And as you can see from the video below (recorded from the Extreme 8/3/2023 Hampton Casino rock show) Nuno did not disappoint!

The solo has a breakdown that nods to “Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee” and that it exceeds superhuman speeds, delivering dizzying scale lines and jaw-dropping fretboard acrobatics.
